What you need to know bout your monthly bill
Your electric bill will arrive in the mail around the 8th of each month. The bill is payable upon receipt and considered past due if not paid by the due date which is normally the 28th of each month. Holidays can affect the length of billing periods. If payment is not received by the disconnection date as printed on the past due notice, the service may be posted for disconnection. Additional trip charges will be assessed to post a service for disconnection and to disconnect the service.
If there is a move in your future, you are responsible for the electric usage until the cooperative is contacted and arrangements have been made. Please provide us with a forwarding address so we can send you the final bill. We ask that you keep a current address on file to assure that we may retire your patronage and all capital credits to you in future years.
A $30 returned-check charge will be assessed for any checks that are not honored. In addition, your bill will be considered unpaid, and late payment charges will apply.
To avoid a penalty, your payment must reach our office by the due date printed on the bill.
A 1.5% penalty will apply if payment is received after the due date printed on the bill.
This recurring monthly fee is charged to every member-owner, regardless of the amount of energy used. It helps offset the cost of maintaining electric service at a location and covers maintenance of poles, wires, transformers, meters, right-of-way, administration, preparation and mailing of bills and other expenses associated with providing electric service.
This possible fluctuating monthly adjustment reflects the amount of Farmers Electric pays for power above or below the base cost established at the time of our last rate change.
If a line crew is dispatched to service a member's outage and the outage is found to be no fault of the cooperative or its equipment, a service call fee is charged to the member-owner.
