Each year Farmers Electric Cooperative, Inc., along with neighboring electric cooperatives, hosts a fall legislative meeting for area legislators. The idea behind this informal meeting is to get acquainted with our legislators and also let them know about issues, concerns, or proposed legislation the cooperatives may bring forth in the upcoming session.
Farmers Electric Cooperative participates in the annual REC Day on the Hill where cooperatives from throughout the state spend an afternoon visiting with legislators. Farmers Electric also sets aside one day each year, during the legislative session, for a visit to local legislators; this visit includes directors and employees.
Directors and employees attend local legislator coffees and receptions to stay abreast of current activities during the legislative session. Cooperative management is on the mailing list of the local legislators, as well as, our Washington legislators.
